Another awesome single malt produced in Arctic Norway here from the Bivrost range! Muspelheim is named after a one of the Nine World of Norse mythology, and it's a particularly fiery world indeed, protected by jötunn Surtr and his flaming sword. So, it makes sense that this expression is a smoky single malt! A marriage of the brand's standard and peaty whisky, it was aged in ex-Islay barrels, bourbon quarter casks, and octave casks. Impressive as ever from the brilliant Bivrost.
Toasted vanilla pod, roast chestnuts, honey, and a hint of woody pine.
Vanilla-y grist, with underlying hints of peppercorn and caramel. Warming earthy peat sticks around.
Cinnamon and another crackle of pepper, supported by smoke.
