Rough is the word I’d use. Lots of alcohol burn rather than pepper or chilli flavour. Immature. Poor.
Really impressed with the bottle I bought. Opened it last night and blown away by the depth of flavour and peat smoke. Islay intensity
I had fancied trying this for some time. I do enjoy a peaty whisky and have a particular fondness for Longrow. I was mighty impressed with another of Douglas Laing's blends earlier in the year and so tried this. Absolutely brilliant stuff! I have now ordered this year's Big Peat at Christmas.
Amazingly strong and flavourful. Very peat-forward (obviously), but surprisingly sweet at first, then turns into a savoury, salty, smoky whisky. My #1 whisky
Always consistently strong and a quality offering to Islay fans
