Scotland

A big bodied blended malt from Islay. It comprises malt whisky from Caol Ila, Bowmore, Ardbeg and Port Ellen. Big Peat is a great whisky with lots of peaty character.
Warm slabs of tangy peat. Hints of chocolate, coffee and cedar with spices, walnuts and almond. A touch of cinnamon with oily smoke.
Simple, easy going, but delicious. Notes of heavy smoke, cut grass, peanut, spices and peat.
Quite abrupt with cut grass, coastal notes and smoke.

Really REALLY wanted to like this but....it’s just awful! Far too nutty on the palate, with the contrived, deliberate smoke peat, it’s more like Jack Daniels being drunk from a cigar ashtray! Medicinal and mellow, lacking in any fullness. A real gimmicky whisky that does Islay a huge injustice in my opinion.
An interesting blend for those who like smoke monsters with plenty of dark chocolate and peat but finishing with a slightly bitter but long smokey finish. I prefer Lagavulin as it seems kinder to my palate.
Cracking dram. First time I’ve tried Big Peat and it did not disappoint. Loved it!
don't be fooled by the questionable and oddly stylized label. I would not bring it to the in-laws for the look of it.. But let's go with a blind test. branding aside, this is a smokey, peaty, 3 dimensional, beautifully well designed drink, with a nice flavour arc and surprisingly rich subtleties. do try if you're into the Islay bent, you'll likely be pleasantly surprised. just hide the bottle.
Greatness in a bottle! I love this Islay whisky. It’s everything I look for in an Islay whisky - rich, smoky, earthy, peated... the finish just goes on and on and on and on
