Big Peat - The European Football Edition
A limited edition bottling of Douglas Laing's Big Peat blended malt Scotch whisky, celebrating cities across Europe as well as a sport that many hold near and dear to their heart - football! The whisky itself is made with a selection of single malts from various Islay distilleries, and has been bottled up at a generous 53.3% ABV. The label features the eponymous Big Peat doing a header and sporting a snazzy football kit. We like to imagine he is mid-flight akin to Robin van Persie in the 2014 World Cup while doing this header, but we just can't see the rest of the scene.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Oat cakes, roast chestnuts, charred oak, and salty sea spray.
Palate
Still packed with peat, though hints of marmalade and vanilla sponge develop underneath the savoury notes.
Finish
Pine, meaty malt, cassia and black pepper spiciness.
