Benrinnes 40 Year Old 1979 - Old & Rare Platinum (Hunter Laing)
This incredible bottle of Benrinnes has seen a magnificent 40 years of ageing! It was distilled back in 1979, and left in a single cask for four whole decades. Eventually, Hunter Laing bottled the single malt in 2019 for the Old & Rare Platinum selection, with the cask yielding 208 bottles at a cask strength of 42.1% ABV.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
This bright gold whisky has notes of dried pineapples, furniture wax and green herbs on the nose.
Palate
Oily and waxy in the mouth, with more fruity notes - orange, papaya and guava.
Finish
The finish is long, fruity and satisfyingly drying.
