Benrinnes 15 Year Old 2005 (cask 14051) - Old Malt Cask (Hunter Laing)
Independently bottled from a single ex-sherry cask, it's a cracking single malt from Benrinnes! Matured for 15 years between 2005 and 2022, the cask was snapped up by the folks at Hunter Laing, releasing a total of 115 bottles for its Old Malt Cask collection.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Toasted sourdough with floral honey, buttery peach, and apricot, leading to candied fruits and earthen vanilla.
Palate
Dense charred oak and bold, biscuity malt bring notes of caramelised almonds and maple syrup. Dates and prunes arrive, with a touch of nutmeg at the edges.
Finish
The spicy warmth picks up, but so does the creamy barley, all tied together with layers of nutty vanilla, rich oak, and butterscotch.
