Douglas Laing
Scotland
Single Malt
A brilliant and very rare 36 year old from the Banff distillery. This was distilled in November 1975 and aged in a single refill hogshead before bottling in June 2012. A wonderful single cask whisky bottled for Douglas Laing's Old and Rare Platinum Selection, an outturn of 153 bottles.
A spiced, warming nose with notes of citrus zest, cut hay and fresh herbs. Hints of lemon juice, a little mineralic quality and just a soupcon of plum wine.
Medium-bodied with notes of apple peel, Manuka honey and malt. It develops on notes of orange marmalade and kumquats, with a development of nutmeg.
A spiced, warming finish.
