Balmenach 32yo 1990 Bottling Note

This marvellous single malt was distilled at Balmenach in 1990 and matured for 32 years in a single ex-bourbon barrel. After that rather long slumber, the cask was opened in 2022 by the gang at indie bottler Hunter Laing, releasing a total of 324 bottles for its Old & Rare Platinum collection.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Vanilla caramel and buttery fudge, a touch of roasted coffee, and baked apple sweetness.

Palate: More orchard fruits arrive, with warm, spiced crumble and silky toffee. A touch of gingerbread hovers, balanced by oaken vanilla.

Finish: That ginger heats up towards the end, while creamy barley and butterscotch linger.
