There isn't any distillery-bottled Balmenach single malt, so when you see a batch of it snapped up by an independent bottler it's a real treat. This wine-cask-matured indie Balmenach was distilled in 2011 and aged for 11 years, before Langside bottled it up for its Hepburn's Choice series at 46% ABV.
Nose: Charred tropical fruit, dried apricot, smoked bacon, and nutty biscuits.
Palate: Caramel, rich malt, crunchy peanut butter, and dried fruit.
Finish: Long and rich.
