Independently bottled Auchroisk here, distilled in 1996 and matured for 25 years in a single PX sherry butt. It was cracked open in 2022 by Hunter Laing for its The First Editions series, with only 541 bottles produced, at cask strength, with no added colour or chill filtration.
Raisins, sweet sherry spice, some milk chocolate, and toasted walnuts.
Spiced apple compote, with fig rolls, brown sugar, and warm oak.
Sweet, with gentle nuttiness.
