12 year old Auchroisk single malt, matured in a single refill cask from 2001 to 2014. When it was bottled for the Hepburn's Choice range, 367 bottles were produced with not a single bit of added colouring or chill-filtering needed.
Auchroisk is a little gem of a distillery still waiting to be discovered. It generally produces a very rich and rewarding dram. However this offering from Hepburn's does not do the distillery any favours at all. It is very thin and malty with a distinct taste of sulphur. The cask selection was not good. For a true taste of this distillery look elsewhere. James Blackmore
