21 year old Ardmore single malt, independently bottled by the wonderful Douglas Laing for the Old Particular range. This was distilled in October 1996 and aged in a single refill hogshead until November 2017, when it was bottled with an outturn of 310 bottles.
Nose Wood smoke and toasted rye bread, with a slight hint of waxy orange peel underneath.
Palate Hot cooking spices followed by a cooling touch of spearmint. Rounded vanilla sweetness.
Finish Slightly grassy, with continued peat smoke richness.
