North Star Spirits is an independent bottler based in Glasgow, founded in 2016 with a focus on transparency in its releases – and this bottling of Ardbeg single malt is a Master of Malt exclusive! Distilled at the famed Islay distillery on 29 October 2008, it spent 15 years in a single butt cask (number #5076 to be precise) before it was bottled at cask strength in October 2023.
Bacon Frazzles and dark oak, then fruitier orange and lime notes with leather, seaspray, and toffee.
Creamy almond texture with black pepper and chilli, wood smoke, autumnal earthiness, dark rum, a herbal bitterness, and fresh lime.
Long, spicy with lingering bonfires, a little smoked ham and soft tannins.
