A wonderful Speyside single malt, distilled at Aberlour in December 2008. It spent the following decade in a single refill hogshead, until in April 2019 Douglas Laing bottled the whisky for the Old Particular series. The hogshead yielded 476 bottles at 48.4% ABV, full of hallmark Speyside notes. As always with Old Particular bottlings, there's no colouring or chillfiltration to be seen here.
Loads of juicy white stone fruit, along with bucketfuls of sweet malt and a touch of toffee.
More powerful than the nose would suggest, with loads of baking spice, more malt, caramelised nuts, apricot jam, mint leaves and brown sugar.
Honey sponge cake, toasty malt, a prickle of oak spice and barley sugar.

An absolute peach... perfectly balanced at 48.4% and a great price`
Bitter and alcoholic. Not worth it.
