Aberfeldy 8 Year Old 2012 (cask 15275) - Provenance (Douglas Laing)
An eight year old single malt Scotch whisky from the awesome Aberfeldy Distillery, independently bottled up by Douglas Laing as part of their Provenance series of more affordable malts. It was filled into a single refill barrel back in September 2012 and left to rest until August 2021, when it was bottled up at 46% ABV. Just 320 bottles of this one.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Creamy and floral on the nose, with honey and a touch of orange flower water.
Palate
Sweet - so very sweet - clearly a very good cask. Gentle vanilla gives way to malty grist, and a touch of bitterness.
Finish
Long and surprisingly rich for its age. Good spirit will out.
