Joining the Premier Barrel collection from Douglas Laing, an impressive single malt from Aberfeldy which the independent bottler describes as a "Hyperbolically hearty Highland malt"! Matured for a decade in a single cask, there are just 320 decanters of this one, adorned with magnificently alliterative tasting notes and a charming vintage feel.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Apple pastries, oily malt, and stewed, earthen tea lead to hints of Pear Drops and waxed citrus.
Palate
Juicy barley and freshly baked cookies accompany honeyed dates and rich marmalade, with waves of soft, oaken vanilla throughout.
Finish
More vanilla and dried orange finish things off, bolstered by a dusting of cinnamon and syrupy flapjack.
