I recently switched from Scotch to Vodka and have tried a dozen different vodkas. So far the Stolichnaya Gold is my favorite. In addition to its affordability, this vodka is extremely smooth with no burn. "Purity" vodka had been my favorite until I sampled this Stolichnaya Gold. Also have a Stolichnaya Elit waiting to be sampled...
Got it gifted as a bartender at a bar in tel aviv i work in, as a fervent whisky lover i was disappointed at the sight of getting just a bottle of vodka. Now when i opened the bottle i didnt expect much, just the usual glue-ey taste cheap vodka's have, so this one really surprised me. I drank it neat. First of all it is amazingly smooth. It has a sweet note that lingers troughout the pleasant aftertaste. Room temperature does this one justice. Overall i'm impressed how without ageing a spirit on barrels it knows to deliver this kind of experience and i'm looking forward to compare to similar and even better vodka's. Stolichnaya, you got my attention and i sincerely hope to taste more of your quality vodka's!
