You'd be forgiven for not knowing Mr. Staritsky and Mr. Levitsky, seeing as they were figures from over 100 years ago. For those who need a hint, Mr. Staritsky was a cultural leader and Mr. Levitsky was an entrepreneur, and both were from Ukraine. To the people who do know them, they are seen as fantastic thinkers and social figures whose meetings were known for, among other things, good food and quality vodka.
Staritsky & Levitsky Reserve Vodka is based on a recipe created over 100 years ago. It is distilled in the ancient town of Lviv using Ukrainian grains grown in black earth, a soil that produces a high yield, and combined with pure water from natural springs in the Carpathian Mountains.

I was first introduced to this Vodka when i bought a bottle, in Kiev International Duty Free, as a memento of my time in Ukraine... It is now my vodka of choice, smooth and subtle... nothing compares...
My wife brought back a 1L bottle of this vodka when she visited Kiev and it is the smoothest (almost creamy) vodka I've ever tasted. Shame its costs double the price in the UK - almost worth another trip to Kiev :-)
