Alpine vermouth, from La Distillerie Des Alpes in the French city of Chambéry. Reviving the historic recipes of the distillery's founder Philibert Routin, this expression combines a blend of 24 plants and spices, resulting in a bittersweet, herbal depth that is helped along by a delicate oak finish. Of course, we're keen to try this in Negronis and the like, but the folks at the distillery also recommend it neat, with an orange garnish as an after-dinner treat, accompanied by chocolate, almonds, and hazelnuts to snack on – sounds delicious!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Complex layers of earthen spice, clove, bitter roots, and aromatic herbs dance amongst floral wafts of lavender and vanilla.
