9 di Dante Inferno Vermouth takes inspiration from the Nine Circles of Hell as mentioned in the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri. It features 27 botanicals, including nine that the producers have linked to each circle: wormwood is Limbo; cardamom is lust; bitter orange peel is gluttony; cumin is greed; basil is anger; nettle is heresy; tansy is violence; fennel is fraud; caraway in treachery.
Suitably warming and spicy, with a kick of clove and cumin amongst the orange peel and softly oaky red wine richness.
This is really quite special, very original taste, bold and powerfull. Great complexity, a fruity rhubarb delight followed by a tart cinder toffee finish.
Whenever I hear 'this takes it to the next level' I always picture top chefs judging other chefs in the likes of Great British Menu, and it has become a cliché. However, this is truly a different Vermouth. From the moment of pouring and seeing the deep red liquid through to the smell and then the taste, nothing is ordinary. When you take a sip, it's like opening your favourite book with new characters arriving all the time, it moves, changes, evolves and your tastebuds are taken on a journey. Definitely a must have on your shelf!
Received this as a present wow it takes the Negroni to a different level Fantastic
Whichever of Dante’s Circles is your game, whether your choice is Negroni, Sbagliati or clasic vermouth on the rocks, with 9 di Dante any sin you choose for tonite will surely taste better ? Sip, praise the flavour, enjoy and then go out and sin like there is no tomorrow. Cheers. Mateusz
Loved it on the rocks!
