This is the Reposado expression from Tequila El Rayo, which distils 100% Blue Weber agave in 105 year old copper stills and matured for seven months in casks that previously held whiskey before being bottled. El Rayo translates to 'the lightning', and the name is an homage to the legend that lightning struck a Blue Weber agave plant, cooking it and creating the first Tequila.
Soft caramel notes and a subtle hint of oak, with underlying orange, while the cooked agave vegetal hints still remain alongside the sweeter notes.

Love this stuff... managed to get a sneak preview ahead of uk release... whilst I was already a tequila fan, my (uninitiated) friends I shared it with were blown away and had no idea proper tequila tasted this good!
