According to the distillers, "it’s clear, clean and exactly what moonshine should be." We're inclined to agree. Sweet, full of corn notes and peppery fruits. The name comes from the fact that high proof moonshine burns with a blue flame - "if it burns blue, it’s true."
Sweet and full of corn notes, as mentioned above. Cracked pepper and a hint of wild raspberry.
Pleasant punchiness, vanilla, corn and Pop Tarts.
Warming corn.
This is stuff you are looking for if you like fresh un-aged corn whiskey. Deliciously sweet corn flavor. Dangerously smooth. It is not blue or raspberry flavored (sales person said this). The bottle is just blue. I like it even better than the Buffalo trace white dog
So for my 21st I had a nip piñata with one of these in there along with other ole smokies. I’ve tried others and loved them. Took them like shots. Now me being already a little wasted, saw this and thought “oh, everything blue always tastes awesome!” Wrong. I immediately wanted to vomit the moment it went into my mouth. Totally shock sobered me right up and I had wait about an hour for my next drink. Now if I was sober enough to read it first I would have mixed it. Afterwards though since there was a decent amount left, I encouraged my other friends to sip or smell it. All of them gagged and one actually tried it and every one admits it is the worst smell or taste they’ve ever experienced. Think of the blue flame, like an actual butane torch fluid but intensified and then imagine it mixed with you worst drink. If you buy this. Prepare yourself and do not do what I did, and good luck. I am now scared to try the rest of my smokies collection..
Very authentic! Remember that this is corn squeezin's (corn whiskey) and cannot be compared to charcoal/toasted-chared barreled, or other whiskies/distillates since this is in a category/flight of it's own. For an over proof, very smooth! Warming but not overly hot. Nose is typical for fresh & over proof moonshine/corn squeezin's, solvent and corn- cornbread up front which is typical to flight! Copper tinged with tequila, slight hints of vanilla and pepper undernotes due to phenolics & esters from typical jug yeast fermenting at warmer temperatures, fresh rain petrichor background due to clean lime aquifer water which also contributes to a background dryness. Very smooth and corn forward with an up front corn sweetness with a dry slight bitter to Ballance the sweetness. Top shelf moonshine flight liquor! 4.80+ out of 5!
Was given a bottle a year ago, when I saw the % and it’s proof, I never open it. And it’s sat in my cabinet ever since. Just looking at it scares the shit out of me, let alone trying it. One day. Unless someone convinced me to open it.
Terrible taste, What's the best way to drink this, on the rocks, mixed with something or what?
