Noveltea Tale of Oolong Bottling Note

The humble cuppa has been elevated, with a boozy twist! Noveltea have taken cold-brewed Oolong tea, jasmine flowers, red rose petals, papaya and mango flakes into a floral mix and married it all together with a Scotch whisky blend. Try serving over ice and garnish with an orange slice.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Chinese Oolong brings rich fragrant notes, a touch of natural sweetness and floral traces of jasmine and rose petals, all delicately balanced by the soft and fruity notes of Scotch.

Objectivity personified
Proof that taste is objective. I loved it. Loved it even more served hot. I found a sweet smokiness.

Only ok - definitely not worth it
This is ok served cold on ice. Relatively smooth and not too sweet, but I got pretty much no smokiness from this which was very disappointing. Horrible hot, don’t know why they even say you can drink it that way. This was ok to try, but it is not that nice and it’s definitely not worth the price point. It is just cold tea with whisky in it, and from the taste, the whisky they’ve chosen is not the nicest of whiskies. Nice idea and I will probably make my own some day (with a better whisky), but definitely wouldn’t buy again and wish I hadn’t spent my money on this. It’s £25 for a bottle of something which is basically a pre-mixed pourable cocktail, so you go through it about 4x faster than a bottle of spirits, even though it costs about as much as a bottle of spirits. I will say if you still really want to try Noveltea, very surprisingly to me the Earl Grey & gin one is much better than the Oolong & whisky one (tried both), so just skip this whisky one. I am both an oolong & whisky lover so almost only got this one, but very glad I got the Earl grey one as well as it was much better. Although still neither one is worth it.
