Firefly Moonshine comes all the way from Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina. This is their Apple Pie flavoured expression, with bursts with notes of baked apple, warm cinnamon bark and even a little bit of flaky pie crust!
I have given this one an 8/10 purely as this is the first of its kind that I have tasted. The aroma is, for me, strong baked pastry, with sweet baked apple, then a hint of spice. Very subtle. Does smell exactly like an apple pie and the rich, creamy/buttery, apple lingers in your mouth. All the joy of eating an apple pie, with alcohol! They have a good balance of strength and sweetness. The alcohol does mask the apple pie notes so needs to breathe a little and don't stick your nose too close. Great on a winters day or chilled for the summer. Would buy this one again.
