Firefly Moonshine comes all the way from Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina. This is their Apple Pie flavoured expression, with bursts with notes of baked apple, warm cinnamon bark and even a little bit of flaky pie crust!
My new favorite drink, good value, fantastic flavor.
Having tried an apple and nut moonshine before I was excited to try apple pie. However was disappointed to find that the apple seemed to be missing from the drink and it was just overly sweet with a slight hint of cinnamon.
Being a die hard diet coke and vodka girl for most of my youth I figured it was time to develop some tastebuds and sail into a new era of my life. So, I bought a harmonica and a bottle of Firefly moonshine - Apple Pie. I was bracing myself for the first few glasses to taste like paint stripper whilst my sense developed but from the first taste I can honestly say this is a fantastic drink. Despite the warning below about not huffing it from the jar I got my hooter straight in and you could instantly smell the complexity of the blended ingredients. I am looking forward to carving my path in the world as a world class blues harmonica player with a jar of Moonshine close by.... Or just sitting out in the back garden irritating the neighbors throughout the summer evenings with my 'tin sandwich' strangling.
Never had moonshine before so didn't know what to expect. This stuff is absolutely beautiful! Has a nice appley cinnamon spice taste to it and easy to drink.
This stuff is delicious. No other word for it. Proceed with caution though, it's so drinkable it can sneak up on you. I once accidentally drank so much in one sitting, I couldn't speak. All other functions remained, but speach. No. My wife told me to go to bed. Next day, I had some more. Like I say, it's glorious
