Climax Moonshine Bottling Note

A moonshine made by Tim Smith from Climax, Virginia (featured on the Discovery Channel show 'Moonshiners'), using a combination of barley, rye and corn. The majestic dog on the label is Camo, a Catahoula Leopard dog who faithfully sits by Tim Smith's side.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Sweet notes of corn and sugar cane. A little bit of peppery cinnamon.

Tim Smith's Climax Moonshine Reviews

Great moonshine!!

The original climats is really smooth. Then I had the firehouse which was the sediment and I really enjoyed that flavor. The whiskey campfire wow me. I bought all 3 brands to celebrate Christmas with my family. But I saw another moonshine by old smokey. That Carmel flavor. Oh my!! Best yet but it really didnt have a pick me up. So I mix the old smokey with climax org. And wow!! What a flavor!! My favorite yet!!

Amazing juice

Tim Smith has done it! I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was beyond all my expectations. So good!
The reviews here say it all. in fact these reviews are probably all fake reviews, because every other site's reviews say his stuff is really bad - tastes like cheap tequila.

Amazing stuff

Having watched the tv show for years I've been waiting to try this moonshine. Needless to say it did not let me down. I love this stuff. Can't wait for it to be back in stock so I can get another bottle.

Will buy again

After watching Moonshiners for years it was time to try the real thing. In all honesty I was not expecting the best, equivalent to scrumpy in the cider world but I was wrong! Lovely delicate flavours and actually a delight to drink straight over ice.
Want it back in stock to buy more for Christmas!

disappoiting really for a moonshine !

Not as good as I expected from Tim Smith ,but this moonshine may be an acquired taste down to personal preference . It is more rye than corn really , quite a high spice on the taste because of it . The corn is fighting through the spice with it's sweet taste ith a bitter peppery spice after taste on the finish . It may taste better aged in a barrel ,but honestly I've tasted better e'g' Jim Irwin's Firefly and heaven hill's Georgia moon are prime examples ....even my own sweetcorn Irish Poitin leaves this one sitting in the Ha'penny place !.....sorry Tim ! Love in a bottle

After watching all the Moonshiners TV show I decided I needed a bottle of this. Arrived this morning well packaged as always. Cracked it open and let it breathe a while then poured myself a generous shot. My good the wait has been worth it, the taste is out of this world and gentle compared to others I have tried. You can taste the love and care put into this and the gentle warming as it flows into your body. Will definitely order more and please please can you source some of his aged stuff or do I have to buy three bottles and a aging barrel ?

The answer to our prayers !

Hi ya'll

Just wanted to say Master Of Malt sent me an email regarding my question below so I just thought I'd fill you all in on what they said.........

They said that they are aware of the high demand for this product and so are liaising with there suppliers to source more. So it's hopefully good news as it looks like we might be able to buy more of this gorgeous moonshine that has its roots in Moonshine mythology and is from a very well known prominent moonshiner that went leagal so he could sell his family's legacy recipe Moonshine to the masses of his fans !!!

New aged Tim smith Moonshine coming soon !

There's one more I wanna try off Tim Smith !. Recently Tim has tried some new gimmicks on moonshiners and it's aged Moonshine but done through electrolysis which is rather strange but on the show it appeared to work and Tim started selling it to his suppliers so hopefully it will trickle down to us and Master Of Malt will sell it. Can't wait but since it took a year and half to get this stuff I'm not holding my breath !

The smell of green grass music !!!

Well now I've tried it I'm happy. It has a bread aroma to it that is all corn and it's very nice and is a change from the usual Whisky I buy. It has very a soft appeal to it and is light and oily which is indicative of the oils that come from corn when it gets distilled but there are some faint wafts of Rye heat and a some barley but not malted barley its malted corn. You can defiantly tell this originates from the back woods of Virginia a typical corn heavy moonshine. I've had quite a bit of proper moonshine from when I would hop across the pond from the U.K. To Virginia to see friends and this is what you would be drinking dancing to green grass music until 6 AM the next morning...........ahh good times, if nothing else that smell makes one reminisce about those good times I had and that is priceless ! 5 Stars no problem at all !

FINALLY ITS HERE !!! GET SOME WHY YOU CAN !!!

I've heard good things from this, from my friends in the U.S.A and I love the Documentary "Moonshiners" and think that Tims move to go Leagal was a good one but I'm so, so greatful that my favourite online vendor is selling this stuff because ever since Tim Smith went legal I've wanted to taste his family's legacy's recipe handed down from father to son through all of the generations and now brought to you by Master Of Malt. Please keep selling this Master Of Malt as from what I can gather this stuff sells like hot cakes in winter !!! And there is many more people like me just dying to try this and once the word is out there that your selling this and going to keep stocking this, well you going make many more fans happy that'll keep coming for more !!!

Sweet, spicy and different! Wonderful stuff

As a viewer of the moonshine tv series this is something Iv wanted to try for years, while on holiday in Florida I tried several other 'shines' but all were very heavy corn flavoured and quite horrible. The flavoured shines from Midnight Moon are lovely but finally Master Of Malt have Tim Smith Climax shine in stock. Everything I hoped for, sweetness of the corn, maltyness and peppery fire from the Rye, for shine this really is fantastic stuff, on the nose I personally don't like the smell as the corn has a sweet but sickly smell, but there is a hint of scotch mixed bourbon and rye going beyond the initial hit of corn. Taking a 'sup' you have syrup and vanilla from the corn with a really well rounded spice and pepper from the rye, I love it, just please keep it in stock and if your reading this,m and willing to try new things, buy a bottle. Fantastic with a cigar to!
