A rounded, medium bodied spiced spirit drink (to be classified as a rum, it needs to be 37.5% abv) known the world over. Captain Morgan's Spiced is great value for money, and needs little introduction.
Please note: You may receive one of the limited edition Captain Morgan bottles, each featuring a different name on the label: Captain Drama, Captain Banter, Captain Comedy, Captain Retro, Captain Genius, Captain Clueless and Captain Karaoke. We cannot guarantee which one of these labels you will receive
Allspice and vanilla. Huge cinnamon notes, freshly grated nutmeg, black pepper and rich Black Forest Honey.
Demerara sugar, smoky molasses and a big whack of cloves, nutmeg and sweet cinnamon.
Medium-length with sweet spices.

My husband and I have been drinking Morgans Spiced Rum for many years - our drink of choice. We poured a dram last night from a new litre bottle & honestly thought we had a bad batch. We poured it down the sink! You can actually smell the difference, this is definitely not the same "recipe" no matter what they say. Today we went to a different supermarket & bought a bottle & it is a different taste to the original but not as bad as the litre bottle we opened last night. Once this bottle is finished we will not be buying any more we'll stick to gin. Have Diageo not heard the saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it"?
I don't know what to say other than this rum is really awful. Over sweet, cloying vanilla. I tried hiding it in cocktails but even this could not conceal the basic unpalatability of this drink. I ended up using it to sterilise a cut on my nephew's leg (he is 18 so that is probably legal). The rest got tipped away onto the lawn where there is still a bare grass-free patch to this day. Nothing against Captain Morgan per se but they really need to rethink this one.
I thought I was going crazy until I read these reviews. It definitely changed flavours at the same time the bottle top changed from blue to gold. I can't say I ever paid enough attention to notice the name change. It's much sharper and less smooth with less vanilla. Tastes pretty rank now, I drink Bacardi oak heart instead. Not as good as the original morgans spiced but much better than this dishwater
I have tried, really I have to get used to the fact that my beloved morgans spiced rum has been replaced by this filth but I just don't enjoy this captain morgans spiced rum. I even went so far as to call the customer support and they tell me it's the same thing but I KNOW it's not. Damned shame and shame on them for stopping get production of it. I have 1 dram of the original left on case of the apocalypse.
No me gusta mucho el ron, es parecido al Havana Club, no esta mal, pero sinceramente paso.
