Travellers Distillery 10 Year Old (That Boutique-y Rum Company)
10 year old rum from the Travellers Distillery in Belize, produced in a traditional column still. Not only it is home to a terrific rum distillery, Belize also has one of the best scuba diving spots in the world - the great Blue Hole of Belize.
Batch 1 is a release of 477 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Charred oak, pecan and vanilla coat a brilliantly vibrant banana note. A medley of tropical fruits adds complexity, alongside decadent caramel and strong coffee. There's even a bright touch of peppermint in the background. Wow.
Palate
A crunchy smattering of brown sugar and a thick, creamy slice of banoffee pie lead. Plenty of oak builds a dignified, earthy core and rich, slightly bitter herbs keep things interesting.
Finish
A salty lick keeps this dram progressing long after you first sip. Toffee and maybe a little raspberry linger. Again, wow.
Overall
One of the cleanest, sharpest and most refined rums you'll ever have the pleasure of enjoying. It's almost beyond... Belize... (Sorry).
