Secret Distillery #9 20 Year Old (That Boutique-y Rum Company)
The first rum from Fiji to join That Boutique-y Rum Company's impressive collection! This characterful expression is a heavy pot still rum, distilled from molasses and matured for two decades in a bourbon cask. The majority of that maturation time was spent in the warm climes of Fiji, with a short spell in the UK before bottling.
Batch 1 is a release of 122 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Vibrant layers of lime peels, green banana, and pressed sugar cane, supported by heaps of crushed almonds and a distant hint of fromage frais.
Palate
More sweet lime and clementine are wrapped up in layers of creamy vanilla, with juicy pear and strawberry backed by delicate garden mint.
Finish
Tropical, tangy fruit with a touch of tartness, gently herbal, with a whisper of smoke.
