St. Lucia Distillers introduce the Admiral Rodney Rum range, a selection of extra old Saint Lucian rum from Coffey still distillates that have been aged in American white oak Bourbon casks. HMS Royal Oak has a blend of rums matured for 7 to 12 years.
The new range honours the naval victory of Admiral George Rodney at Battle of the Saints in 1782 against the French, and each rum is named after ships that distinguished themselves in the battle.
Prune, grapes and spices initially with tobacco, chocolate, caramel and vanilla notes underneath.

A superb Rum, astonishingly smooth. Fine Rums have a lot to compare with single malt Whiskies, and this is a case in point, with a light, almost peaty smokiness. I generally drink my Rums with a mixer, but this truly is superb neat.
This is a good, extremely good history lesson. To add to the very good history that you have on the impressive packaging of this 'excellent' rum. My uncle served on the HMS Rodney, and was on board when for the sinking of the Bismark. So this is an ideal family tipple - and very good it is too.
Beautiful smooth, yet powerful rum. Caramel and vanilla cone through strong, with a rich dark chocolate finish
