Satchmo rum is inspired by iconic American trumpeter Louis Armstrong's nickname, Satchmo! It's flavoured with the same ingredients you'd find in a Mojito, so expect lots of lime and mint freshness in here. Oh, and it's presented in a bottle in the shape of a trumpet. Just in case you hadn't spotted that.

This was rum number 45 into my collection and although the bottle is very cool I was left very disappointed. The rum tastes like a blend of different mouthwashes and leaves a nasty chemical aftertaste in the mouth. I agree with the other comment saying this could potentially be redeemed which mixing it but even then if you want a mint flavour why not just use fresh mint for the same purpose. There has been runs which I’ve tried before and not liked but understood that it may be my own personal taste that gives me that opinion but with this one I can truly say it is the worst rum I’ve tasted. For the price point too it’s severely overpriced but you do get a kick ass bottle which is of high quality so there is that small plus.
I realise that this is the odd review out. But if you are a rum fan do not buy this. This is very much a one dimensional, ingredient rum. Very chemical tasting in the mint and more recalls of mouthwash than a drink. Mixed into a mojito would work but why not use a good standard white rum?
If you enjoy spiced rums and enjoy mojitos then this is a must. It tastes amazing and the bottle will look great in your collection.
