A rare rum blend made in Panama, Ron Abuelo Centuria is aged in Jack Daniel's whiskey barrels in the solera method. Some of the rums are as old as 30 years, and the flavour is astonishingly rich and punchy.

Great taste. More delicate than Abuelo 12 yet less sweet. I do not think they are to be compared but rather seen as two different things. The quality of this rum cannot be put to doubt.

The best I ever Taste!

The older rums are apparent on the nose and unfortunately are lost on the palate due to the infusion of added sweeteners. It regains balance, somewhat, on the mid and rear end of the finish - this is what the palate should have been all along - but not enough to warrant the price, or even 1/2 of it. I can get 95% of this from the Plantation XO, or Pampero Aniversario. For that matter, the Zacapa 23 Solero is as satisfying. Preferring drier rums with purer presentation, I'd take the Brugal 1888 over this or, as another reviewer mentioned, 4 bottles of Abuelo 12 (though unlike him, I find the Centuria sweeter). The Opthimus 18 is better. Barbancourt 15 decanted for a month or two to knock the wood down...preferable.I'll decant it and try again in a couple months but really, should you have to at this price?

As a fan of Ron Abuelos 12 y/o I gave this one a go. It's a much more delicate rum, with less of the sweet, heavier hitting tastes of the 12. Very nice, but I'd rather 4 bottles of that one than one of this. Try the sample first.

A truly awesome product of incredible distinction and complexity. I am savoring it as we speak. Bushwacker

Not likely. I read somewhere too that it was surposed to be a limited bottling of 3000 bottles. However so far I have not been able to get confirmation from Varela Hermanos. That being said, this is an awesome rum. Among my top two panamanian rums. The other one being Rum Nation Panama 21.

....Spoken like someone who wants to sell rum. Brand representative?

I read that the Centuris is a one-time bottling, so pick up a bottle soon if you're interested. High quality stuff made up of a blend of rums up to 30 years old. Panamanian rum, no surprises, tasty nutty, toffee molasses flavors, verrrry smooth. Easily in my top 10 favorite rums.
