Pyrat (pronounced 'pirate') XO Reserve is an orange-forward Caribbean spirit made with rums aged for up to 15 years (although most will of course have been aged for less time). The bottle is based on the design of those kept by ship captains and pirates during the 19th Century.
Very citrussy. So much orange peel. Icing sugar, waves of fruit. Perhaps a little cough sweet note too.
Sweet, viscous, more orange. Marmalade.
Molasses, orange peels, marmalade, spice.
Like an incredible rum old-fashioned.

Mr. Mymic is damn right. Bought it for 30 dollars at KY Airport duty free. Personally I cannot agree with customer who says this is better than Zacapa, because, honestly, Guatemalan rums are better made. Botran (Solera) is too. Good rum, though, if you want to stay in the young-rum range. My girlfriend loves it. I give it 3.5 stars. Cheers!
When you first open it you'll think you're drinking alcoholic benalin and you'll be dissapointed, but give it time in the glass and it softens and becomes very marmaladesk, jelly tots, and jaffa cakes, it retains a slight medicinal twang, but this is really nice rum, perfect for a winter warmer
Forgot the rating for the above.
I have tried Mount Gay Extra Old, Zaya 12-year old, and Ron Zacapa Sistema Solerna 23, but this is my favotire. It has just this subtle touch of smokiness the other don't have that trully endears it. It is rich, flaovorful, long-lasting. Sadly, I cannot recommend purchasing here, as I believe this can be obtained for fully $10-15 (US) less than Master of Malt is asking. But if this is your only way to obtain it, it's worth it.
This has a really lovely nose - lovely citrussy. Decent sweetness and you just want to take a sip right from the bottle.
