Pusser's 'Gunpowder Proof' Black Label (previously known as Blue Label) is a higher proof traditional British Naval rum, produced using the blending recipe from the Admiralty. Well loved, it picked up a Trophy at the International Spirits Challenge 2016.
The nose is full of dried fruits, dates, prunes, slightly overripe figs. The palate is very sweet, plenty of dark, syrupy, stewed fruits. An interesting pot still character with a pleasant muddiness. Full-bodied. The finish is incredibly long and dark.

THE creme de la creme of all things Rum! From memory it tastes just like the old Royal Naval "TOT" (its supposed to) that I was brought up on in the 60's before it was stopped - As has been said before "I'll be back!"
If you wonder what all the noise is about the old Royal Navy tot and wish to see what it tasted like try this one - the nearest rum I've found to the real thing that I drank daily back in my Royal Navy days! Up to the proper strength too, pity about the measure but that is your choice! It should be 1/2 a gill - go on you know you want too - just one warning once tried you won't want to go back to any other rum!
I’m new to rum, and I’ve enjoyed spiced, flavoured and plain rums. I think the pineapple grenade was my favourite. I found Pussers gunpowder proof rum quite harsh and I probably won’t buy it again. Mind you if a man in a uniform gave me a navy ration I’d drink it.
Nice and smooth
My dad ex R.N ...HMS Fleetwood always swore Pusser's was the nearest to the grog served up, and told me of Sippers & Gulpers with difference by his shipmates 1940 - 46...
