The Pusser's Rum collection has had a bit of a revamp. While their Blue Label is still made with the exact same blend of rums - a recipe from the Admiralty - it is now bottled at 40% abv rather that 54.5% abv. The reasoning behind this, is it allows Pusser's to be distributed to Naval bases, where the maximum allowed strength is 40%.
If you're looking for the original 54.5% version, then fear not! It has now been rebranded as Pusser's 'Gunpowder Proof' Black Label.
Peanut brittle, chocolate raisins, old oak and good sherry.
Banana, ground clove, ginger root and crunchy brown sugar. A touch of baklava, too.

Pusser's Rum is, according to the lore I read, a blended rum that has been tuned so that every person in the crew can enjoy it. Upon trying, I instantly became fond of it - it is indeed, a very balanced spirit, good for sipping neat, good as a mixer, and also great for cooking and preserving. With the competitive price, all I can say is, when I buy I buy it in bulk, 'cos it runs out fast.
