I’ve got to say my first impressions of Lytham Rum left me feeling underwhelmed. I was expecting it to smell amazing, because of the white chocolate and coconut flavourings. But instead, it smells quite bland, just like all the other cheap generic rums. Things do not improve any when you drink this neat, as it tastes as bland as it smells, with a gruff alcohol burn to boot. But, add Coca-Cola to this rum and it ends up tasting completely different, and make no mistake, I mean different in a good way! Turned into a long drink, the flavours finally come through, (more so the coconut than the white chocolate it has to be said) making this rum not only tastier, but a lot sweeter, and much smoother. In summary, neat it’s a no, for Lytham Rum White Chocolate & Coconut. But as a long drink, it’s very much a YES!
