This Island Signature rum from the Dominican Republic was named after Anacaona, a Taíno cacique. She was the chief of the Xaragua as well as a religious expert and poet born in the 1400s. Anacaona’s name means 'gold flower' in Taínos, so it's rather appropriate that this is a fragrant, floral rum.
White flowers and tropical fruit, with a dash of chilli heat tempered by silky honeyed sweetness.
I don’t think we were drinking the same bottle as the MM reviewer. Pale in colour and thin on flavour. It was barley more than white rum with a little caramel for colour. It will make a reasonable white rum cocktail. But is not on the sipping list
This rum is smooth with a delicate aftertaste of barreled whiskey. A full body aged rum. A nice combination of cocoa & cane.
Possible the only spirit I have bought that is undrinkable. Absolutely stomach churning diesel.
