Description

Eminente Reserva 7 Year Old is a particularly snazzy Cuban rum, made with 100% Cuban sugar cane. Bright and clean, but with plenty of complexity and depth as it develops on the palate, with rich coffee and tobacco notes sitting alongside fruity cherry and floral wafts. Should do very well simply sipped neat, but we reckon it'll also make for a great Palmetto or Rum Old Fashioned...

Fancy shaking up a Daiquiri on the rocks? You'll need:

50ml Eminente Reserva

20ml fresh lime juice

20ml sugar syrup

Shake all the ingredients together with ice. Strain into an ice-filled rocks tumbler and garnish with a slice of lime. Cheers!

Nose

Lots of cinnamon spice with fresh cherries and a little dried fruit followed by dark chocolate, coffee and tobacco.

Palate

Fresh, fragrant and floral, light body, just a touch of sweetness, some pepper, then toffee, chocolate and coffee swing in. With a little smokiness in the background.

Finish

Long and layered with sweet dark chocolate.

I don't see what all the fuss is about

Frankly I thought this rum was nothing special and somewhat bland. Pleasant enough but I wouldn't buy it again.

Impressive

I never review rum but this had to get a mention. Its simply a beautiful Rum. Great notes, superb flavour , smooth finish. Great for painting a cuban cigar with some cracked off cedar. Dip the toe of the cigar in and light up that cuban dream. This rum delivers an experience

Quite simply, a great all round rum

I have to say currently one of my favourite rums (with a mixer). It has a unique tast that I cant quite put my finger on. It tastes strong, but not overpowering. A lovelly flavour but without an alcohol burn. After having finished my bottle, I cant wait to order another. Quite simply, a great all round rum.

Highly recommended

An excellent tasty rum. Not overly barrelled so as to lose its roots. Well worth a little stretch beyond the usual budget for something a bit special.
