An interesting Haitian rum from the Calirin range. The Vaval expression is unaged and distilled using a particularly unique still (which even includes leather trays!) before being bottled at 51.1% ABV.
Intensely and enjoyably spicy - clove, cumin and a touch of menthol. Develops a sweeter core of lime and vanilla. Lingering sea salt notes.
Got a dram of this included in the 24 box. Probably the best white rum out of the lot. 2 cubes and it had alot to tell. Might work mixing but probably better all by itself.
