A fantastic aged rum from the Doorly's range, featuring Bajan rum from the Foursquare Distillery which has enjoyed a second maturation in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. This extra maturation imparts a wealth of fruit, dark chocolate and oaky spices to the rum's flavour profile, making this an excellent choice for sipping neat. Not only that, it's got a pretty good bird on the label. Bonus.
Sugarcane, Demerara sugar, meaty and rich. Over-ripe grape notes and spice.
Fresh flowers, oak, potpourri, cedar, honey, toffee apples.
Long, muscovado sugar and oak-led spices.

good rum
I think sherried finishes on dark rums is very good because you get the lovely warm gentile caramel and molasses tastes from a good quality dark rum for example Ron Zacapa which is one of my personal favourates especially the 2014 and 2015 reserva limitada any way back to the point the sherried finish cuts through the distinctive caramel and molasses at the end with a sweet zing like Pedro Ximinez finishes do on single malt whisky. I'm a big single malt fan and dark rum fan and it goes to say you can not gain exsperiance and knolage if you don't try and buy and personal taste is subjective !
good lord and great goddess....jeez. just sampled some Pyrat...interesting liqueur-ish rum... and this 'cheapie' has to follow? wow. stands on its own. perfectly balanced sweetness, depth, burn (very little, but it lets you know there is a alcohol in it)....! very tasty with some citrus and banana notes. depth depth depth at this price? and then there's a nice lingering finish. good gawd, get a bottle now. or steal on, ya old blimey
What can I say? This is the most complex rum I have ever purchased. It is the smoothest rum I have ever consumed. I recently finished a $40 bottle of Angel's Envy bourbon and purchased this today. I'd almost classify it in the category of a whiskey. The opening, middle, and finish are adventurous, memorable, and downright delightful. I can't believe I only paid $15 at Total Wine. I need to buy a case before they discover what they have and charge four times this amount.
This true, unsweetened rum is by far one of the best buys for the price - amazing quality and flavour. Love it.
