Discarded Spirits is brilliant at turning waste into something delicious, and this Banana Peel Rum is its latest brilliant creation. A Caribbean rum base has been matured in whiskey casks and then infused with banana peel for two weeks. The peel is sourced from a flavour house that uses the fruit but has no use for the skins, which would otherwise be thrown away. The peel adds a wonderful toffee-like quality to the spirit, and we can't wait to try it in a Rum Old Fashioned.

Love this brand's values - and both their spirits. This cheeky rum is surprisingly smooth with a smouldering banana aftertaste. I gave MoM's suggestion of a Rum Old Fashioned ago and it works a treat. Gave it a salt caramel twist for bonus points
I'm not one for flavoured sugar bombs, but the banana is subtle & adds more of a light natural sweetness. It doesn't overpower the rum itself & the gentle hint of whisky on the finish is lovely. It was a lot smoother than expected too & great with ice.
