2001 vintage rum from Columbia's Dictador, this expression spent 21 years maturing, initially in American oak before being treated to a finish in a Port cask. The rum was selected by master blender Hernan Parra to join the distillery's premium sipping range.
Cocoa powder, liquorice, maple syrup with some notes of vanilla and hints of toasted almonds. Some tobacco box, dark fruits and Manuka honey.
Very fruity with red grapes, strawberry and notes of white chocolate. Some cracked black pepper, slight notes of earthy pachouli, and a top note of oud. Oaky and rounded.
The peppery notes continue followed by some orchard fruits.
