Mezan

A 2005 vintage rum from the well-known Diamond distillery in Guyana, independently bottled by Mezan. Full of yummy herbaceous notes alongside light hints of banana and a touch of oak spice.
Green banana, buttery oak and caraway. A burst of zesty lime and lemon arrives later on.
Crisp apple, more citrus, some star anise and a hint of beeswax.
Soft woody spices and another hint of juicy fruit.
A very different run from the traditional Demerara rum associated with Guyana. More a Brandy/Whiskey style very pale and almost a peaty accent to it. Different and nice to have on the shelf - for me straight with a teaspoon of water. At the price point I would be inclined to go for something more to my taste (El Do 12 or Diplo) I like it but can see others loving this!
