A spiced rum created by the chaps behind The Rum & Crab Shack in St. Ives (which serves tasty seafood and top rum - sounds excellent to us). Dead Man's Fingers rum is made using a blend of Caribbean rums alongside a hearty helping of spices. When ordering, make sure to only ask for measurements in fingers like the cool people in films do. "Three fingers of Dead Man's Fingers please, barkeeper!"
Pineapple, Seville orange, dried raisins dusted with cinnamon and black pepper. A touch of creamy vanilla develops later on.
Cool name but bland in the mix and harsh on its own. Flavour tastes like it came out a test tube.
In the rum group that I’m a member of on Facebook, DMF not only as a rum, but as a brand, polarises opinions, with some members saying they are to commercial and that to many chemicals are used, making their rums taste artificial. While others say, every single flavour is simply divine. As for me. Well I loved the coconut rum and this spiced flavoured one is more than ok. It smells quite vanillary at first, giving you the anticipation of this rum tasting more sugary than peppery. But oh no. What the good folk at DMF have somehow managed to achieve, is to create a rum that simultaneously caresses your tastebuds with sweetness and jolts them with a heated after kick. Now most people would probably say that having a rum that is both sweet and spicy in the same glass should not and does not work. But I politely disagree. Neat for me, I’m not so keen, as it’s a little to fiery for my sweet tooth to handle. But add Coca-Cola and this rum becomes a pleasant long drink, with a heated kick that will keep the cold at bay.
Lovely spiced rum! I won't do a review of what sort of hints of stuff I can taste but if you've had Kraken I think this slightly trumps it as a bit more spice to make it a pleasant drink. I've tried Dark Matter, which was far too spicy for me, so this it the sweet spot for me.
I enjoyed the bottle I bought expected it to be a bit over spiced like some rums I've tried but was slightly sweet which I felt was enjoyable
Some of the best Rum I have ever had smooth texture and mixes really well with Coke which is my usual after work tipple Has a spiced vanilla flavour when mixed with coke and is even nice on its own
