The eighth edition of Boulet de Canon from French independent bottler Compagnie des Indes. You might not even need a translation tool to work out what the name means, well you definitely don't because we'll tell you – it means cannonball. As this name evokes, these releases celebrate smokiness, and this expression sees a selection of rums from Nicaragua and Panama blended and finished for 12 months in peated Islay whisky casks! An ace choice if you're a rum fan hosting a peat fan for drinks, or vice versa.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
A good balance of fruit and smoke with charred pineapple balancing a vegetal, herbal depth. Bittersweet, rooty spice, earthy coffee grounds with ashen oak lingering on the finish.
