Captain Morgan Dark Rum

Captain Morgan is a dark rum seen on back-bars around the world. This is made using a blend of Jamaican, Guyanese and Bajan rums. Great in loads of cocktails and mixed drinks - Captain & Cola is a classic for a reason.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Spiced, rich. Molasses and pepper.

Palate Full, warming. Stone fruits, dried peels, a hint of aniseed.

Finish Aniseed develops into the finish, honey too.

Real Rum
Best TRUE rum on the market. It's a sailor tasting rum. It's certainly not hoity toity pretending to be a rum. Far superior to Appletons and the like. It's a tough man's rum. Anyone who thinks different. Needs to go back to your vodka and orange. Lol

Harsh. Had to try it but I'll stick with OVD and Trawler thanks.

Rum for Real Men
It's Rich, It's Harsh, It's Sweet, It will fix your head in no time and make you see good. as should. this is not Rum for the Rum and Cola fans even though it's marketed as one. it's a smart Pirate trick to make those who wouldn't since they couldn't sip. and as for the Snobbish Haters... i guess these are the ones behind heavy office tables wearing Diver's watches and sipping 100$ and north special edition single malts and XO Rums. this one is not for you. it's a blend made to fix the toughest of men in the Harshest of weathers. Not you.

It's a no from Me!
It has an artificial or synthetic flavour and leaves an aftertaste of burnt caramel, not nice!

Hmm.. not so much...
I like my rums, but can't get on with this one, I find it pungent (not in an appealing way) and harsh on the palate. OK as a mixer. Jamaican rums tend to have that stronger flavour, I find, and there are some I like. But not this. YMMV...

Excellent
Great tasting rum. Anyone who is snobbish about rum needs to remember it was intended for rough seafarers and not expensive lounges.

cheap and get what you pay for
Cannon fodder reviewer below is off his head, Morgans rum is pretty nasty and NOTHING like expensive rums, it is about level or one notch above Lambs rum which says a lot, Morgans has an after taste of burnt caramel and burnt wood so tell me an expensive rum that does this?

Put your hard earned £$£$£ to something decent like Flor de Caña or Appleton and do yourself a favour.
