Well, this is a pretty unique combination right here... Thanks to Belgrove, hazelnut rum is now a thing! The brand is named after William Belgrove, a rum pioneer, and the spirit is a single-origin Demerara rum from Guyana combined with toasted hazelnut flavours. This is sure to make a whole bunch of innovative cocktails, though if you're stuck for ideas, may we suggest a rum Old Fashioned?
Both sweet and dry, hazelnut is of course at the fore, supported by creamy notes of vanilla and chocolate.
I love this! Just delicious really nutty and warm.
I need to start by telling you that Belgrove Hazelnut Rum smells a lot like Cadbury Dairy Milk Wholenut Chocolate Bar. In other words, bloody amazing! Drank neat your tastebuds are immediately bombarded by the hazelnut, then quickly followed by notes of chocolate, hence the awesome smell. However it would be remiss of me, if I didn’t also mention that this rum has quite a scorching alcohol burn. Way too hot for me to handle, let’s put it that way. No problem though, because Belgrove is just as delicious, even more so when mixed with Coca-Cola. That’s because the Coca-Cola works in perfect harmony with the flavourings, enhancing the already dominant hazelnut and making the chocolate notes even more chocolatey. So if you feel like treating yourself to a delicious tasting rum, that also packs a fiery kick, but you don’t want to spend over £30, then you would be as mad as a box of frogs not to take a gamble on this delectable and very moreish offering.
Yes it’s ok, quite dry, not like a spiced or dark rum, just something in between. There is much better rums out there.
Oh my! I took a chance on this, for a very picky other half and BOY I was not disappointed. Everyone who has been treated to a tipple has fallen it love, it is quite simply delicious. I'm more of a whiskey drinker, and never like the taste of rum..... until now. This is a really smooth tipple. I'll be back.
Bit disappointing. No depth of taste and the hazelnut smell when you open the bottle isn't that discernible in the flavour. Will try it in coffee but just can't see me drinking it neat when I have much better things in the cupboard to savour.
