Well, this is a pretty unique combination right here... Thanks to Belgrove, hazelnut rum is now a thing! The brand is named after William Belgrove, a rum pioneer, and the spirit is a single-origin Demerara rum from Guyana combined with toasted hazelnut flavours. This is sure to make a whole bunch of innovative cocktails, though if you're stuck for ideas, may we suggest a rum Old Fashioned?
Both sweet and dry, hazelnut is of course at the fore, supported by creamy notes of vanilla and chocolate.
My new favourite drink! I absolutely love Belgrove rum and now I’ve tasted it I don’t want anything else! It’s delicious just with ice or I like it with coke too. It goes down too easily if anything!
First class spiced rum, lovely to drink neat and has a nice ‘burn’ without being coarse or rough. Lovely aftertaste of hazelnut. Definitely recommended, one of the best rums I’ve had!
Sampled this at a food and drink festival and really liked it so bought a bottle direct from the founder after a nice chat. The aroma from the hazelnut is gorgeous but more subtle when it comes to tasting it so it’s not like a sweet liqueur. At hone I made an espresso martini variation using it and that was very nice. It came supplied with a couple of bottles of a new Fever Tree spiced orange ginger ale and they worked really together as did the Schweppes 1783 Madagascan mixer. Definitely a new favourite!
