A popular bottling from the superb Barbancourt range of rhum and rhum agricole. 3 star is actually a 4-year-old expression rum that exhibits classic Haitian character.
Light, fresh, buttery spices. Vanilla and crisp toffee.
Light, crisp, tangy oak, vanilla, butter, spice, green.
Tannic oak, good sweetness.
A ten dollar bill got me this 3 year old rum. I was skeptical. After a number of tries at different temperatures, different applications, I'm sold. This is the best value rum I've ever had. Oak, butterscotch, an array of notes. If you don't mind a dry rum, this makes an excellent sipper. Blends well too. The five star is marginally better, but at the price, the three star will be my default. Go Haiti!
In a critical review by Cuban officials in the Port of Cienfuegos while entering my vessel we tasted six of the best Cuban Rons after my claim that Barbancourt Rhum was better in quality and result. They grudgingly agreed but only after finishing off two of my bottles and dancing to Haitian music on my (at that time) tape deck until late in the night...
GOOD STUFF.
excellent rapport qualité/prix
