Jamaica 2014 - 1423 Single Barrel Selection
A particularly intriguing rum here from 1423's Single Barrel Selection. It was distilled in Jamaica back in 2014 then matured in ex-bourbon barrels, and before being bottled in August 2020, it was given a finishing period in casks that previously held Merlot wine! Plenty of familiar high ester notes here, mixed with red fruit sweetness from the Merlot casks.

Ripe pineapple and papaya, runny caramel, a good helping of raspberry and cinnamon, plus some earthy clove.
